Spanish outlet Marca reports that Napoli have agreed a €12m deal with Real Madrid to sign defender Rafa Marin. Who spent last season at Alaves, with a buy-back clause included sport.

The 22-year-old is a product of Real Madrid’s academy but has never made a senior appearance.

However, his performances on loan at Alaves proved enough to impress Antonio Conte. Who pushed for a move to the Stadio Diego Maradona UFABET

Sky Sport Italia reported a few weeks ago that the transfer would cost €10m. But Marca claim it is closer to €12m.

As confirmed by sources in Italy, Los Blancos have included a buy-back clause. Which is a rather unusual format for both teams to agree on.

If Real Madrid want to buy Marin back in 2026, the fee would be €25m, rising to €35m in the summer of 2027.

However, Napoli themselves have an option that could be triggered in June 2025 to pay Real Madrid an additional €10m. Which would double the buy-back clause for the Spanish giants.

In that case, it would mean Real Madrid would have to pay €50m to bring Marin back in 2026 and €70m to buy the defender back in 2027.

A medical will be carried out in the coming days as Napoli begin their pre-season on July 9.
